  2. (b) 2 only
  3. (c) 2 and 3 ✓ UPSC's answer

Why the answer is (c)

• Pair 2 is correct: the Madhesis of Nepal's Terai plains protested the 2015 constitution over representation and citizenship, leading to a border blockade.

• Pair 3 is correct: the Rohingya, a Muslim minority of Myanmar's Rakhine State, were denied citizenship and driven out in 2017.

• Pair 1 is wrong: the Kurds are a people of Iraq, Turkey, Syria and Iran, not Bangladesh.

• Hence 2 and 3, option (c).

Why the other options are wrong

(a) 1 and 2
Pair 1 is wrong: Kurds are not in Bangladesh.
(b) 2 only
Pair 3 (Rohingya–Myanmar) is also correct.
(d) 3 only
Pair 2 (Madhesi–Nepal) is also correct.
