Why the answer is (a)

• National Investment and Manufacturing Zones (NIMZs) were conceived under the National Manufacturing Policy, 2011 as large integrated industrial townships with world-class infrastructure.

• In 2016 the first NIMZ outside the Delhi–Mumbai Industrial Corridor received final approval at Prakasam district, Andhra Pradesh, spread over about 5,000 acres — option (a).

• Other NIMZs were proposed later in Karnataka, Telangana, Odisha and Maharashtra.

• Hence option (a).

Why the other options are wrong

(b) Gujarat
Gujarat was not the site of the first NIMZ.
(c) Maharashtra
Maharashtra's NIMZ came later.
(d) Uttar Pradesh
Uttar Pradesh was not the first.
