Why the answer is (d)

• Under the old numbering in force in 2014, NH 4 ran Mumbai–Pune–Bengaluru–Chennai (not Chennai–Hyderabad, which was NH 5/NH 9); NH 6 ran Hazira/Surat–Nagpur–Kolkata (not Mumbai–Kolkata); NH 15 ran Pathankot–Samakhiali via Bikaner and Jaisalmer (not Ahmedabad–Jodhpur).

• All three pairs are therefore mismatched.

• Hence none, option (d).

Why the other options are wrong

(a) 1 and 2 only: NH 4 was Mumbai–Chennai and NH 6 Surat–Kolkata.
(b) 3 only: NH 15 was Pathankot–Samakhiali.
(c) 1, 2 and 3: None of the pairs is correct.
