Why the answer is (a)

• Kodaikanal Lake is a star-shaped artificial lake built in 1863 by Sir Vere Henry Levinge, the Collector of Madurai, by damming streams — option (a).

• Kolleru (b) is a natural freshwater lake between the Krishna and Godavari deltas; Nainital (c) is a natural tectonic lake; Renuka (d) is a natural lake and Ramsar site in Sirmaur.

• Hence option (a).
