Why the answer is (a)
• Raju has ₹9000, which represents 75% of the total cost of the mobile handset.
• To find the full cost, divide ₹9000 by 0.75, which equals ₹12,000.
• Raju borrows ₹2,000, bringing his total available funds to ₹9,000 + ₹2,000 = ₹11,000.
• The required amount is ₹12,000, but Raju only has ₹11,000.
• Since ₹11,000 is less than ₹12,000, Raju still does not have enough amount to buy the handset.
Why the other options are wrong
- (b) Raju has exactly the same amount as required to buy the handset.
- Raju has ₹11,000, which is ₹1,000 short of the required ₹12,000, so he does not have exactly the same amount.
- (c) Raju has enough amount to buy the handset and he will have ₹ 500 with him after buying…
- Raju cannot buy the handset because he is short by ₹1,000, so he cannot have ₹500 left over.
- (d) Raju has enough amount to buy the handset and he will have ₹ 1000 with him after buying…
- Raju cannot buy the handset because he is short by ₹1,000, so he cannot have ₹1,000 left over.
