Turkey is located between

  1. (a) Black Sea and Caspian Sea

  4. (d) Gulf of Aqaba and Dead Sea

Why the answer is (b)

• Turkey occupies the Anatolian peninsula with the Black Sea to the north and the Mediterranean to the south, and the Aegean to the west; the Bosphorus and Dardanelles link the Black Sea to the Mediterranean through Turkish territory — option (b).

• The Caspian (a) lies east beyond Georgia and Armenia; the Gulf of Suez (c) and Gulf of Aqaba/Dead Sea (d) are far to the south in Egypt, Israel and Jordan.

• Hence option (b).

Why the other options are wrong

(a) Black Sea and Caspian Sea
Turkey does not touch the Caspian Sea.
(c) Gulf of Suez and Mediterranean Sea
The Gulf of Suez is in Egypt.
(d) Gulf of Aqaba and Dead Sea
The Gulf of Aqaba and Dead Sea are far south of Turkey.
