Why the answer is (c)

• The doctor is not Q (lawyer), not R (stated) and not P or S (students), so T is the doctor; the remaining role, artist, goes to R.
• So: T – doctor, Q – lawyer, R – artist and T's wife; P and S are students.
• Hence the artist is R, option (c).
Why the other options are wrong

- P is an unmarried student and there is no information assigning the artist role to P, while R is deduced to be the artist.
- (b) Q
- Q is explicitly stated to be neither a doctor nor an artist, making Q the lawyer.
